On Thursday, 17th February, Gordon Whitehead joined representatives from the medical business community at the Hunter MedTeCCH Forum to help build awareness of the Hunter Central Coast contribution to MedTech competitive capability in NSW and nationally.

MedTeCCH is the Hunter Central Coast’s MedTech & Pharmaceuticals (MTP) industry cluster, established and managed by Regional Development Australia (RDA). Hunter MedTeCCH is industry-led and working to identify and address industry and Health challenges locally. It comprises a broad range of the region’s MedTech and allied health companies, national industry associations, Health and manufacturing specialists, and education & research organisations.

Professor Jennifer Martin- Clinical Director at the Australian Centre for Medicines Development & Advanced Manufacturing Technologies gave an overview of the new Australian Centre for Medicines Development and Advanced Manufacturing Technologies

John Lancken – Head of Design + Industry (D+I) Newcastle outlined D+I’s vision for the Newcastle arm of their company.

Andrew Adamovich – Managing Director of AdvanCell & Dr Mike Fay, Chief Medical Officer at AdvanCell provided an overview of the development of the company’s Isotope generator, which shares some strong bonds, within the Hunter region.

Andrew Sargent – Director of Point of Care Testing at NSW Heath Pathology provided an overview of possible opportunities for Hunter Central Coast companies to collaborate with NSW Health Pathology Point of Care Testing.
